Starting at the 14:50 mark. An interesting explanation. Maybe listen to 2 to 3 minutes after that 14:50 mark. As a slave you work seven days a week from sun up to sun down. The Sabbath was foreign to the Hebrews. I bet even possibly Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and his children might have worked seven days a week?

Could that have been from a time before they ripped off the Egyptian 6 day creation myth and made it their own? A few changes here and there, change the names to protect the innocent and Viola! A Jewish creation myth. THEN you don't work on Sabbath.

That is an interesting take on it. However the Holy Bible gives another explanation.

Just like the Passover was established so that the Israelis would remember how God brought them out of slavery from Eqypt, the Sabbath was sanctified by God so they would be reminded how God made the heavens and the earth and all that is in them in six days and rested on the seventh day.

Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

    (Genesis 2:1-3 NASB)

"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath of the LORD your God; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who stays with you. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and made it holy.

    (Exodus 20:9-11 NASB)

.. and rested ever since! (Seriously - what did he do on the 8th day?)

And why did it take god 6 days? Why not do it all in a microsecond?

Read the Holy Bible for yourself. Then maybe you can figure it out.

You don't remember what happened in 6 days. You just believe the story.
The bible could just as easily say "In the first second ..." et c.

The 7 day week comes from the lunar calendar (approximately 4 weeks to the month). I am sure the creation myth post dated both the 7 day week and the tradition of resting on the Sabbath. Creation myths generally are used to explain existing facts/practices/customs and not to start them.

that's ridiculous! What kind of Quality work can be done in a microsecond?
the heavens are quality work alone. notice how the planets and suns do not crash into one another.
the Earth is also a quality work, it has been until we got our hands on it.
man/woman are also quality works. notice the capacity to heal when damaged.
what kind of work can you think of that can be done in a microsecond?

I'll mention something that happened half a lifetime ago. I came out of the grocery store to find a piece of paper on my car's windshield. It was someone's ideas on the Sabbath. More particularly, it listed bad things that were in the news of the day (AIDS, etc) and chalked them up to too many people wrongly acting as though Sunday were the Sabbath day. The writer was insistent that Saturday was the true Sabbath, and the Lord was vexed over well-meaning but ignorant people getting it wrong.
