Apparently Hell froze over some time ago.

"During his long career both in parliaments and on pulpits, Ian Paisley was compared to ........ and , latterly, one of the Chuckle Brothers from the BBC children's comedy show.

The last nickname came about during his years in office as Northern Ireland's first minister, when Paisley stunned friends and foes alike by forming a double-act in government with the former IRA chief of staff Martin McGuinness."

    Kind words from McGuinness.

Nick Robinson, the BBC correspondent, found himself sitting next to Paisley on one of his flights abroad. He was deeply engrossed with reading his bible, but Nick was determined to do his journalist thing and engage him in conversation. Paisley, apparently, spoke in such a quiet, gentle and subdued way that Nick found him almost impossible to hear above the engine noise. Moments later after disembarking Paisley immediately launched into one of fortissimo tirades. He then looked across at Nick Robinson and winked at him!

    A nice story.

As so-called politician and clergyman who
wanted peace calling the Pope the Anti-Christ?

    Inciting Protestants to "defend themselves"?
