I don't need to bet even if it's not 2017 it will happen someday!
In Greek there are two meanings for time. One of the Greek words means time as in minutes and seconds and there's another time that means the time of the age. Usually ages last about 2500 years.
Do you really think that the US will last forever and that Christians won't be persecuted here?

I see what you did there. It tips the odds on that bet, just a bit.

But you are not being persecuted for claiming things like the Bible says Jesus Christ is Michael the Archangel, and they think that they are. So where does that leave you regarding 2 Timothy 3:12?

They don't understand then definition of persecution go look in the Middle East right now at all the Christian people getting their heads chopped off. Do you think those are Jehovah witnesses?

Almost all the people ISIS are killing are fellow Muslims. You capitalized the ALL in "ALL that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution". If the Jehovah's Witnesses can establish that they are 'living godly in Christ Jesus' ~ unlike Christians who (they claim) misinterpret scripture ~ and that ALL of them are persecuted for what they believe, then 2 Timothy 3:12 would appear to be a prediction about Jehovah's Witnesses, and not about Christians like you.

How do you get from 2 Timothy 3:12, which just says that the godly will suffer persecution, to a great persecution of Christians in the US in a couple of years?
