This is the other game I had v S.G. in his 40+ simul.
This one went more according to plan even though I cock up the attack
by refusing to pseudo-sac my c1 Bishop. Instead I pseudo sac two Knights.
greenpawn - Swiss Gambit RHP 2013
1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 {The best. All these c3's, Nc3's and Morra Gambits tip your hand. This is flexible and you can still consider any of the first three.} 2... e6 {So it's one of them. OK. Wing Gambit.} 3. b4 b6 {Looks like an off the cuff response. I’ll take it.} 4. bxc5 bxc5 5. Bb5 {A real annoying move holding up the freeing d5.} 5... Qb6 {Asking for tempo losses for him and tempo gains for me.} 6. Nc3 {I lead 3-0 in development (I never count the Queen as developed).} 6... a6 7. Ba4 Nc6 8. O-O {Tucking the big fellah out of the way, bringing a Rook into the centre. I'm up 5-1 in the Big D. My game is playing itself.} 8... Bb7 9. Rb1 {See the note after move 5.} 9... Qc7 {Super lead in the development, Queen tied down defending a Bishop on b7. Open it up and sac something.} 10. d4 cxd4 11. Nd5 {It was either this or 11.Bf4 and 12.Rxb7. But I liked the lines where my c1 Bishop comes to a3. Look at that dark diagonal from a3-f8. Let's see what happens. (that was me talking myself into making the wrong sac.)} 11... exd5 12. exd5 Bc5 {Ahhh...Good move. I was banking on 12...Nd8 (holds the b7 Bishop) and Re1+ which gives quick crushes. Keep forgetting that S.G. is usually a good back to the wall player. } 13. dxc6 Bxc6 14. Bxc6 dxc6 15. Nxd4 {My developed pieces have all been swapped off and I have unshackled his Queen. All I have is that Black King on anopen e-file. it should be enough for a middle game pull. (11.Bf4 was much better than 11.Nd5.)} 15... Ne7 {Good. He's just flicked that out too quickly. He was worried about Re1+ I was worried about Rd8. So we have a loose piece on c5. Any checks in the position. No. So let us create one.} 16. Ne6 fxe6 17. Qh5+ Ng6 18. Qxc5 {So that lead in development has turned into a lovely middlegame for me.} 18... Kf7 {Probably best before his h8 Rook gets cut off with. He is going to castle by hand.} 19. Rb6 Rhc8 20. Re1 {That will keep his King on f7. I'm all active. I'll push and pull at the weak points till something gives.} 20... Qe7 21. Qe3 {Setting up Rb7 and Qxe6+ ideas.} 21... Qd6 {Stopping Rb7 ideas, he's planning to untangle with Re8 and e5. I must disturb him.} 22. h4 {In my Black game I ran an h-pawn at a g3 Knight. This looks OK. He cannot take it. 22...Nxh4 23 Ba3 and Qf4+ will win it. Also no weak back rank defensive tricks for Black.} 22... Rc7 {He is still worried about Rb7 but this slack move wins me exchange. The Black side looks difficult to handle, loads of tricks and traps popping up all over the board.} 23. h5 Ne7 24. Qf3+ Kg8 25. Bf4 {Nets the exchange. On such an open board it should enough.} 25... Qd7 26. Bxc7 Qxc7 27. Qb3 {That's a good move with Rxe6 and Rb7 threats,} 27... Nd5 {Stops the e6 threats but...} 28. Rb7 Qd6 {.....switches the attention to g7.} 29. h6 {In my Game with Black I played h4-h3 because I could not think of what to do. Here with h5-h6 I know exactly what is happening,} 29... gxh6 {29...g6 27.Rg7+ and Qb7 is the end.} 30. Qd3 {That's the doomer. hits h7 and pins the Knight to the undefended Queen.} 30... Kf8 {Now 31.c4 puts me a whole Rook up but the Black King is hanging. Go for the King. Always go for the King.} 31. Qxh7 {Far too many threats to handle - S.G. resigned.}
