    i recently started looking at openings. i have played the KG a few times & i must say i absolutely love it. if the gambit is taken it makes it easy to attack blacks f7 square. You must try it. also like the queen's gambit but not often is the gambit taken
    KG -White e4 e5. Black f4

    Seriously though it is a very dangerous weapon - good reason I don't reply
    1 ... e5 as black.

    I admit, I don't understand the KG. It just seems like I'm weakening my king's side for not much attaching benefits. Maybe I just haven't seen the right tutorial on the KG.

    I certainly don't pretend to be an expert at it, but I've had a number of very enjoyable games playing the King's Gambit. This is probably my favorite.

    Great game. This sort of game is the reason I love the king's gambit. Win or lose, it's the most fun you can have over a chessboard.
