    My favorite way to win is trap the king and the promote a pawn to queen. Although I am greatful he resigned. His luck ran out. 😉

    My favorite way to win is when my opponent plays a good game, but I play a little bit better one.

    I like this particular finish best. Unfortunately I have only ever pulled it off in blitz games.

    This finish is nice too, and crops up surprisingly often. At its most satisfying best your opponent must promote a pawn just before you deliver mate!

    Favorite way to win? Checkmate. Any Checkmate.

    I love them all though I do have a sneaky pref for non Queen mates.
    Here is just a handful of OTB encounters. I have 100’s of these.
    And these are just with the White pieces. I have more wins with Black than White.

    I could have won a game like this in a local tournament but I missed it. If it was a computer screen I am sure I would have seen it. It was 3hr time limit.

    Yes pawn mate are cool and so are en passant mate too, once in a life time. And smothered mates as well.

    My guess is he wanted to take every piece off the board. which I like to win with as many pieces on the board as possible. But I guess the other player wasn't humble enough to resign and wanted to be checkmated first?
