Very interesting. I just finished a course on autonomous quad-copters so this is relevant to me.
Of course there will be legal problems so it will probably be necessary to get permission from the power company both because you are stealing power and because of possible safety issues.

I was thinking of all of those caveats but when you have drones used by intelligence or military I don't think they are going to pay much attention to any of those issues, they would be like a motorcycle gang, they want, they take.
