Looking for RHP puzzle #2 so I clicked on 'View Games' .
Opened the tab that lets me see the final position and selected games finished.

Looked at final positions to see if I could spot a position where a
quicker mate may have been missed, often, even by picking a game at random,
you will find a good piece winning shot had been over-looked.

It's a good way to beef up your tactical vision and board awareness, skimming
through a game and suddenly stopping when you think you have spotted something.

I do this on a frequent basis. I rarely come away empty-handed.
Something always pops up and today it was pure gold.
You should dive into the finished games and fish around, it's good fun.

Saw this final position of this one. Just had to play over the game....Incredible.

Good old Philidor. White must have been quite upset since that game was all but won. PS I enjoyed the blog you posted yesterday.

    Hi DeepThought,

"I enjoyed the blog you posted yesterday."

And I enjoyed doing it. Looks like if I searched long enough I could
do a whole blog on players with two Queens losing.

Been across at chessgames locking horns with a few lads over
Carlsen and Wesley So. I enjoy forum sqabbling, OK back to finding a recent RHP game.

    Hey All,
    Why couldn't white play 40. Qxd4+ then, 41. Rxe3?

Hi KP. (please try and use the diagram thingy.)

Yes 40. Qxd4+ picks up the Knight......even more incredible.

White was too intent in getting the Queens Off.

    See the Diagram above?
How does a person create their own diagram using a FEN without having to make it from scratch? I don't know how to make a FEN pop up from an already played game unless I can find the FEN in the game listing for the people involved. Is that how?
