Why would I want to "better" myself?

All these philosophies, methods, self-help mumbo jumbo, and stuff, they are all trying to tell me how to become another kind of person. Like, you know, a zen-like levitating superhuman who is in control of everything that can be in control, who squeezes his brain to the maximum, while keeping the emotions at a rightful balance.
Now... why would I want to become something else? Seriously, I am the most perfect living thing on earth: a thinking, sentient, emotional, and creative animal with free will. Why. Change.That.
If I feel like yelling, I do. If I feel like humping, I also do. If my heart desires to rest, I simply rest. And if I feel anger, I go and explode. Same goes for laughter and contemplation and philosophizing and drinking, etc.
Seriously, people, just stop it with that stuff. Why do you want to be like a leaf in the wind or a floating whatever on the current of the river. Screw that. Eat and drink, for tomorrow we may be dead.
