who am I?

A question which is very difficult to answer for some of our fellows around.

So I am a chemist. But does that define me?
I am a German...what does that mean?
I am a man.
I am quite active as both poster and mover on this site
I am a resurrector of threads.

Am I a friend?
Am I an asset to this site?
Am I dependent on your thoughts?

A chemist, a German and a chess player means you have a practical and analytic mind!!!
Active poster means you care about your fellow players and are willing to help.
You are a fried of the site and other players.

Definitely one of the best posters on the forums. I'm much more likely to open a thread if you're the last poster.

i was gonna write something, about who you are,
then i noticed, it's more about "what" you are...
what we are, is not who we are, no matter how many might try to convince us otherwise...
what you are, is easily determined, but who you are is only for you to say...

I really think this is less about who Ponderable is than to ask us all to take a moment and to think about who each of us is, given our persona we project here, thus the thread title, 'who am I?' It's up to each of us to ask that question of ourselves, and to 'own' it, despite others, who only 'think' they know us.

i am a person
i play the occasional good move; however, most of my moves are run of the mill so so
i spend a lot of time attending to family and friends
i strive to be kind and caring, loving and gracious, and appreciative and sharing
i am not sure what my nationality or race or ethnicity would inform about me
i don't know why my education or occupation matters, unless i was seeking some credibility in an opinion i had posted; however, even then, the post must stand on it's own weight in here
i suppose the only evidence anyone has about who i am in here is that i predominantly play 1. d4 and far too frequently post nonsensical comments in the general forum
i do, however, have this troublesome identity that i thought would be clever when i adopted it many years ago. even if it were descriptive then, which would only partially be true, it certainly does not apply today.
