    Do people use whatever helps them get what they want when they want it?
    Do people not use whatever helps them get what they want when they want it?
    Will people use any method they can to justify their behavior?
    Are people more likely to accept credit for what they think is good,
    verses push off blame for what they do for what they think is bad?
    Do we blame the methods more than the people, the tools more than the people?

    Bottom line in all of this, are people the real reasons for their own actions?

    Yes, when they reach the age of accountability. Meaning, when they know right from wrong. That age varies from person to person.

    That depends on what you mean by 'what they want'. Many people are not entirely selfish if that is what you are asking.

    Again, how do you define 'people'? I know for a fact that certain medications affect my behaviour. Now clearly the medication affects my brain, and my brain is the reason for my action, but ultimately the medication can be said to be part of the reason too.
    It gets more complicated when we talk about lack of medication. If someone is 'normal' when on medication, then doesn't take his/her medication, then is the person the real reason for their actions, or is the lack of medication the real reason?
