I like to chat with folks as we play, either to learn about interesting people, or to learn about chess strategy. Maybe someday I'll start playing consistently in the 1400's, but not likely since I don't really study openings or strategy in any systematic way. Basically, chess provides a good distraction from challenging thinking at work.
Tournament Entry Rating is calculated by the formula (CurrentRating + HighestRating) / 2. The entry rating will never drop to more than 100 points below your Highest Rating.
