    Are you serious?
He might be wrong but he is serious.
What is the law in US?
In UK "Breaking and entering" is a crime.
You can legally walk into someone's home if the door is unlocked.

    No.
A stranger can't just go walking into houses randomly because the doors aren't locked.
It's trespassing, and it's a much more serious form of trespass than walking across someone's lawn. It's an invasion of their home and privacy.
Where do you guys get these bizarre notions?

So the validity of his opinion is now to be tied to his CV?

HE made an invalid bull chit insult and I responded in kind, please read his previous post. He didn't have an opinion.

Don't be naïve - he had an opinion - that is what riled you.

It wasn't an opinion it was a snide insult that had nothing to do with your claim that it wasn't against the law to go walking into peoples homes if the doors aren't locked.
Are you still sticking to that?

So you claim it's not against the law in England for some stranger to wander into someone's home if the door isn't locked?
They don't have a law against trespassing?

My understanding (based on Wikipedia) is that it is typically not a crime but you can bring a civil suit for trespass.

You keep posting Trespass TO LAND articles.
Someone's home is an entirely different thing .
Walk into a stranger's home at 2 in the morning and say it's not a crime because the door wasn't locked and see what the police have to say about it when they haul you off. It IS a criminal trespass.
It scares me that people as thick as you are allowed to vote.

Please look up the definition of criminal trespass and stop being so ignorant.
    Here I'll help you out:
"Generally, a person commits the crime of "criminal trespass" when he or she enters or remains on another's property without the owner's consent. The property in question could be a house, apartment, office building, or sometimes even an automobile or aircraft"
