Apparently there was a time long ago when the human race, ALL of it, was down to maybe a dozen people. I'd say that was the worse year ever for humanity. 150,000 years ago or thereabouts.

Among the nominees should be the assassination of Anwar Sadat on 6 October 1981.

I wasn't living in Egypt but consider this to be a turning point with wide and lasting impact.
