banning question

in which cases is the rating set to 500 and in which not?

* The PO and his aletr ego: banned on multiple acoounts: rating stays (for the time being, games time out- rating falls)

* Ironman31: banned on engine use: rating set to 500

* Exy: banned on engine use: rating stays, games cancelled?

I believe that eventually, all banned players have their rating set to 500. It's simply a matter of time...

Sorry: I posted this to an existing thread. I meant to start a ne thread.

Could/is it be possible to play unrated games against oneself without. This would let me practice positions far more easily.

I noticed that my rating as Exy had been left at 1800 odd. This gave the impression that my account was still active and I was getting loads of game inviations sent to me via email which, as you can imagine, was very irritating. I have asked Russ to set my rating to 500 and make it obvious that my account is inactive.
