Didn't move up after ladder win

Sorry if this is a duplicate; I looked all over and didn't see an answer to this...

What happens if you challenge someone, win, and then don't move up? This happened to me on the three day ladder, and nothing has changed after several days. Game 8727163. Help!

"Profkhutti" lost a ladder game on October 4th.
I suspect this relegated him to below your position at the time.
You then beat him whilst he was below you so you didn't move up.
He then WON a game 24 seconds after your game against him had finished promoting him up to position 728.
Those 24 seconds made all the difference.
Hard luck!!!

Ouch! Oh well....Thanks for solving the mystery. Guess I'll challenge him again!
