A few things you could try:

    1. Try it again in Safe Mode.
    2. Did you install it from a disk? If so, try reinstalling it first and then uninstalling.
3.Same if you downloaded it - redownload and try again.
    4.Get this free program http://www.ccleaner.com/
go to the tools option on the left and uninstall from there.

If that doesn't work, and there's a chance it may not, there's a couple of other things you could try.

Safe Mode = reboot and press f8 [you might have to continually click it on/off as it starts up] and select safe mode from the menu.

    Are you using XP?

Even though it came pre-installed, you should be able to re-download it and then try uninstalling - that's the usual way it can be done.

Before you continue, you could consider just disabling it. Which would be the easiest thing to do.
The other thing you can try is more complicated, I'll post it later if you still need it.

BTW. Can I ask WHY you are getting rid of it? Have you got another firewall?

Good one SS - well done.

I like Sunbelt better too - although I'm using Zone Alarm right now.
