resigning consequences

hi
i have just challenged an opponent in a ladder game and have made one move
he hasnt moved yet and i was hoping for a faster game

if i were to resign now, (to play a different player) would my rating be affected?

Bleeding hell give him a chance to move. Its a 3/7 ladder game so he has up to 3 days to move. Why join a 3/7 ladder if you want to move quick?

If you resign then yes it will affect your rating and, based on your opponents rating, by quite a significant amount.
