Unrated games

Hi, have just played an unrated game (I have double checked it was unrated), but the result changed both of our ratings. Can anyone explain what unrated means, if this is the case!?

You have played two unrated games. However, there is no way for anyone other than you to tell which games they were. Post game links.

Thanks, but why did they affect my rating? I thought the whole point of unrated games is that they don't influence your rating value?
