Vacation icon

How do I get rid of the vacation/airplane icon before it's due to run out?

If you go back to My Settings > My Vacation Settings, I think you will see a button at the top left that cancels the rest of the current vacation period. It's not instant; it takes effect at midnight GMT or something.

I've been trying to permanently get rid of it for months and months.
