Once I have 5 entrants, I'll post all the prose in this forum, using only YOUR prose's title as a reference. You will remain anonymous. No favouritism.
Everyone else may then read the prose, vote for their favourite, discuss, etc. You will remain anonymous.
Everyone will vote for their favourite in their comments.
The winner will have his/her identity revealed, and receive major kudos and people of the opposite sex will drop to their knees in the street when they see you coming.
One entry per person.
Write about anything you want, within forum guidelines.
You will remain anonymous, unless you win.
Once the prose has been posted for two weeks I will tally the votes and anounce the winner.
If you vote for yourself, I’ll tell everyone and we’ll laugh at you.
I won't be entering, and I won't post your prose anywhere but in this thread.
Prose is writing distinguished from poetry by its greater variety of rhythm and its closer resemblance to the patterns of everyday speech. The word prose comes from the Latin prosa, meaning straightforward. This describes the type of writing that prose embodies, unadorned with obvious stylistic devices. Prose writing is usually adopted for the description of facts or the discussion of ideas. It is usually grouped into paragraphs that form a cohesive whole such as an essay or a novel. Recognized masters of English prose writing include Sir Thomas Malory, William Caxton, Raphael Holinshed, Joseph Addison, Mark Twain, and Ernest Hemingway.
