After 19 Bc6, wouldn't you have also gotten some good play out of Q-f6 attacking rook, forcing rook move and B getting h pawn? His side would start looking iffy right there, no? You could hope he castles🙂

    Hi Sonhouse,

You might be right Qf6 looks good but after Rxc6 bxc6 I only saw him playing
Ra7. I'm playing in one of these hardcore things along with loads of other games.

First trap I see usually gets played. I know it's the same for them so my wee traps
have a high success rate. I get found out when the lads take their time (curses...a thinker.)

Keep an eye on Game 11931571 where I have gone for it big time.
Looks to good to resist and on the surface the tricks work but deep down
there is an itch. (please no comments. This is one to watch, a masterpiece
in progress...perhaps..but please stay silent. )

    This one is over.

Moving the queen back to the original square was pretty bad. According to the Roman lab video I have, the response to Nf3 is Bg4 and taking the knight at any time isn't bad.

It frees up the bishop when he plays e6 after. Playing e6 with the bishop on the original square makes playing the bishop a bit more difficult.

    Just saying...

    Hi Eladar,

Maybe sometime in the past Black has lost a Queen playing this opening so brought
her back home out of the way. I did suggest c6 and Qa5 with c7 as a bolt hole.
and Bg4 which too is OK is still on the table.

I mentioned Game 11931571 in an earlier thread.

    Black (me) to play

Yes it works. Went over it three times before sending it.

I see you like to play the older version of the Scandinavian. I was thinking of the newer Qd6 version. If you are afraid of losing your queen by playing her early then perhaps the Scandinavian isn't the best opening.

After retreating the queen to the original sqare white has the advantage of going first and being plus one in development. For black that's no bueno.

I mentioned above where in that live v the French you castle by hand and
swing the a3 Rook to the Kingside. This is a the whole concept in action.
