Where did you get that statistic? Do you mean by scientific vessels?

In 1947 there was a small fleet of ships, US Navy that did the tour back then.

It was called operation highjump.

It was a large expedition but not sure if they went all the way round.

What I am asking, is why you think that was the only circumnavigation of Antarctica. What criteria are you using?

For example, this guy did it single handedly - twice in a row:
