How you come to Jesus is secondarily important - whether through trial and tribulation or well being and thanks. How you come to Christ is not that important.
That a man or woman
COMES to Christ - period. That is what is most important.
One ignorant poster wants to portray God as exploiting people's troubles. The subtle adversary against God always has some question to put into man's heart causing man to doubt the goodness of God's heart toward people.
From the very beginning the subtle one accused:
" ... Did God really say, You shall not eat of any tree of the garden ... and the serpent said, You shall not surely die!
For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will become like God, knowing good and evil." (See Gen. 3:1-7) )
Likewise we have a king of rats murmuring " So then religion and tragedy go hand and hand don't they ? Hmmm ?"
More of the same slander. Those wanting not to hear God at all will have one excuse of the other:
" But to what shall I liken this generation? It is like little children sitting in the marketplace, who call to the others
And say, We have played the flute to you, and you did not dance; we have sung a dirge, and you did not mourn.
For John came neither eating nor drinking and they say, he has a demon. The Son of Man came eating and drinking; and they say, Behold, a gluttenous man and a drunkard, a friend of the tax collectors and sinners. .." (Matt. 11:17,19a)
Either excuse will do to some people.
Any excuse will do to some people.
God exploits human tragedy or God is only interested in the well off.
The Gospel is too old.
The Gospel is too modern and has not stood the test of time.
These are just reasonings the rebellious seize upon.
I don't want to be like this.
