  • 1. b3 d5 2. Bc1b2 d4
A very unusual move, but has been played two or three times before...
    • 3. f4
...so I play this move, that was the only one in the database. I suppose the idea is to atttack the centre which has been left pretty empty by black, attacking e5 so the d4 pawn can't be easily defended. Plus, instead of obstructing the f-pawn with Nf3, the knight can moved afterwards with the added bonus of being defended if it goes to e5 or g5.
      • 3... Ng8f6
First deviation from the database (c5 is the database move).
        • 4. Ng1f3 Nb8c6 5. d3 Bc8g4
Seems like a good attacking move to me, threatening BxN and doubling my pawns, easing the pressure on the pesky d4 pawn, and preventing my knight from guarding against Qh4 later.
          • 6. Nf3e5
I hatched a vague plan involving ..Nxe5 7.fxe5 Nh5 or Nd5 8.h3 to force your bishop to stop pinning my queen, with the added bonus of making your d5 pawn more vulnerable after Nd2 and Nf3. Didn't quite turn out how I'd hoped.
            • 6... Nc6xe5 7. fxe5 Nf6h5 8. h3
!? ...thinking I could force your bishop back and maybe even get a pawn fork, or get you to obstruct one of your central pawns (generally considered a bad idea!). As soon as I'd moved I saw you could play Ng3, following by advancing your King's pawn and bringing your queen to h4, probably causing utter havoc on my kingside.
              • 8... Nh5g3
! I think this qualifies as a Zwischenzug (intermediate move which makes the anticipated move stronger). At this point I'm worried about an eventual Qh4 and discovered check by moving the knight. I was quite worried about my rating here and for the next several moves!

haha, I like the candid honesty!
              • 9. Rh1g1
If 9.Rh2: Nxf1 forces my king into a dangerous position by retaking and makes it uncastleable (if that is a word). All my useful pieces are on the other side of the board.
                • 9... Bg4h5
I think if you'd left the bishop hanging and played e6 it *may* have been a better move. Taking with 10.hxg4 would lead to ...Qh4 11.Qc1 (only way to avoid Ne4#) ..Ne4 12.Kd1 Qf2 and the subsequent destruction of my kingside. If 9..e6 10.Qd2 Qh4 11.Qf4 Nxe2 12.Qf2 Qxf2 13.Kxf2 Nxg1 14.h3xg4 c5/Bc5 (or so I believe, because it's hard to predict beyond a move or two ahead usually). You would have a better position, a protected king and better development and I'd have a *very* tough game to save a draw or a lucky win.
