The importance of early development
1. e4
This game, although not a high standard, shows the advantage of developing your pieces and not making too many early pawn moves.
1... e5 2. Ng1f3 Nb8c6 3. Nb1c3
3...Nf6 would be Petrov's defence.
3... a6
I prefer an open game where my pieces have freedom. 3...a6 gives me a chance to do that.
4. d4
With 2 pieces attacking and 2 defending, this looks good to me.
4... exd4 5. Nf3xd4 Nc6xd4 6. Qd1xd4 d6
This allows the Queen's Bishop out, but where is it going to go?
7. Bc1e3
I'm looking to develop my pieces and get the King to safety. I have 3 pieces developed and Black has none.
7... Ng8f6 8. O-O-O h6 9. Bf1e2 c5
Lots of pawn moves.
10. Qd4d2 b6 11. e5
Attacking the Knight and threatening to Checkmate if dxe.
11... Nf6g4 12. Be2xg4
I don't mind removing Blacks only developed piece.
12... Bc8xg4 13. f3 Bg4e6
I have 3 pieces attacking d6 and Black has only two defending.
