Happens all the time, by people of different religious denominations!

Not sure what your point is Rusty.

Are there any members of these “different religions” posting in this forum who’s organisation claims to be the sole holders of god’s truth on earth?

If so please flag them up and let’s a good look at them.

I don't recall ever hearing anyone say this!

What is your life about, if it's not the people in it?

Children are people you get the privilege of watching become. You see their personality develop right in front of you.

Before I had children, I saw them only as an unwanted tie. My life was going to be about adventure, as much wealth as I could amass and pleasure. W ...[text shortened]... enting is our generations best kept secret. I wonder if what you are hearing is said to protect you.
    I do.

My life is all about the people in it, same as everyone.

I’m sure your 3rd point is one aspect of having offspring.

Sorry to read about your regret of your pre-offspring attitude to adventure.

    Protect me from what?

The words “faith” and “belief” are used in common fashion across the board, and they remain no different regardless of the objects of focus. The objects of faith and belief focus may change, but faith and belief remain the same. Suggesting due to the objects of focus causes faith/beliefs to be redefined has more to do with worldview nothing else.
The bottom line in all your waffle KellyJay, is that you believe that an invisible entity made everything happen, but you have no proof.

No Christians have proof. There isn’t any.

Grow up dude; just believe and live it yourself.

Gravity bends light. The more gravity you have, the more the light bends.

    and

Light doesn't need a vacuum to "get bent" (refract).
Well… I’m not sure that that is entirely accurate.

David Burton has a good question; how can light with no mass be bent by gravity.

The answer is along the lines of … gravity warps space and therefore impacts the lines of direction along which light can travel. Light itself is not affected by gravity.

    It’s something like that.

So at least in Germany "Sonnenufgang" is defined, when you observe the sun coming over the horizon, that the incoming light is actually a bit dated at that time is not of relevance.
Since the sun is emitting the light in all directions (quai) homogenously. The light is alredy 8 minutes travelling, but is arrives directly at the sunrise time.
You’re just getting yourself mixed up with with you see, and what has actually happened when you watch a sunrise.
