What do people think about John Donaldson's new book "Bobby Fischer and His World: The Man, the Player, the Riddle, and the Colorful Characters Who Surrounded Him"? I just ordered it from Amazon.

I've not ordered or read it yet, but the feedback so far is pretty good. I know the author (I.M. John Donaldson) from his tournament days in Seattle. John does his homework well. His books favor accuracy over literary drama, and I expect this one will be no different.

The Donald may desperately need his own media platform now that he’s been booted off Twitter for inciting a riot on our nations capital, but it’s going to cost him a lot more more $$ than he’s got. Even if he wants to use a partners money, this will be next to impossible now. His relentless attacks on the media for 5 years has left him very few friends in the media world.

This week, the Murdoch-owned Wall Street Journal editorial page, a consistent pro-Trump venue, urged Trump to resign the morning after the battle for the Capitol. Fleeing to a host job at Sinclair, again, would make him a slow-moving target of his natural allies at Fox, NewsMax and OAN. Does he really want that? He has too many media enemies right now to manufacture new ones.

To make matters worse for Trump, a multitude of legal and financial chickens will come home to roost once he leaves office.

The Donald's pipe dream of having his own media brand is just that.

The last fig leaf is gone. The GOP, defeated and fragmented is now going to have to weave it's broken parts together and limp along, after spending 5 years backing a tin - pot dictator who would rather incite goon squads to riot and kill their own citizens, rather than accept the outcome of an election. When Al Gore and Hillary Clinton lost their elections, they were angry...but never resorted to violence, choosing instead to make their grievances known in the courts. Republicans can try to spin this horrific event, but it won't work.

So - Where does the GOP go from here? Do they return to their Conservative roots which have been the traditional place for the "angry white man" who's political power is slowly eroding due to changing demographics, or do they continue to back an obese ex President, who faces a mountain of legal and financial problems once he leaves office? Either way; the future of the GOP is not a pretty one. 😳

This would seem to be a step in the right direction. Let us hope Kim Jong-un follows it up with a few more.

Regarding Donald Trump, a small army of Federal and State law enforcement folks want to have with him once he leaves office regarding fraud, income tax evasion, election violations and other misdeeds. I'll be thankful when he's tucked away in prison where he richly deserves to be.

It's interesting to listen to all these "self appointed" experts, none of whom could even pass the entrance exam to med school, much less graduate, pass judgment on a doctor that has studied and treated infectious diseases for over 4 decades.

Jimmy Dore has a degree in marketing communications from Columbia College in Chicago. This guy knows very little about infectious diseases, but he's going to pass judgement on Dr. Fauci? This guy has all the credibility as the guy that told us UV rays, and household cleansers were the solution to COVID 19. 😴
