Dwayne Johnson also known as "The Rock" has said America got worse under Biden and Biden created division . He will not endorse him again this time around although he endorsed him in 2020.

To avoid backlash for supporting Trump he said he will no longer endorse anyone publicly.

Who cares? Not smart people but a lot of dumb people will vote for whoever some famous person votes for so it's looking good for old Trumpy.

This is very true. Lots of folks out there can't think for themselves. On the other hand, I can't convince myself that once Trump entered politics everything became "rigged" our government was evil, and that Mexico was going to pay for that border wall (as promised)

I don't agree with everything Jope Biden does, but our economy and country seems to be operating reasonably well under this administration, and I like Biden's habit of inserting experienced professionals in positions of power, rather than ex models, close friends and family members. What I do agree with is the pundits that say this is going to be a very nasty election between two unpopular candidates. With this in mind, I'm leaving the TV off and developing closer relationships with chess bots and tactics exercises - - I go to bed happier this way. 🙂

Nice cartoon, and I suspect just as true today as it was then. 😏

We have a Mormon among us, probably for the first time. He is Mr. Petty Talk, very vocal around here, so this should be an interesting discussion, comparing JWs and Mormons. This was extracted off Quora.

My Lutheran bible study classes seem pretty orthodox and boring compared to these two.

With the astounding success of The Queens Gambit during COVID, and the number of active chess players now over 400 million in the world, why are there no chess themed movies? This seems like a very big untapped market. Are these cartoon movies they make now really that wonderful, or are movie producers simply being stubborn about this? 🤔

The Mandalorian & Grogu: Star Wars Movie Official Release Date Confirmed

    https://comicbook.com/starwars/news/star-wars-mandalorian-grogu-movie-release-date-official-2026/
I remember standing in line for 2 hours waiting to see the 1st Star Wars movie back in the 70's. After nearly 50 years and countless spin off's, it's still going. Part of me is awestruck by its success, and part of me wonders why filmmakers of today can't seem to produce something that can successfully compete with it.

Do we need more socialism worldwide, especially in tourist destinations?

Who is "We"?? Here's a novel idea: Why don't you let the people in other countries decide what type of government they want. 😳

Today marks 50 years to the day since ABBA won the (now risibly pathetic) Eurovision Song Contest with ‘Waterloo’ at the Brighton Dome (UK)

From the days when live music was actually live. What a brilliant team of Swedish song writers and performers.

    Salute.

This is an article by one of our most respected conservatives. He did

They're everywhere Joe. Behind every bush, around every dark corner, in the corridors of our universities, in the bookstacks of our libraries, and in the secret meetings of our government - and they're coming to get you!! 😆 😆 😆

The American economy added over 300,000 jobs last month, beating estimates by over 100,000 jobs. Meanwhile, over on planet X where the right wing lives, they're working overtime trying to convince everyone that will listen the American economy is falling off a cliff. 😏

Support the Lichess stream. 💪 Although I watch just about everything about chess on YouTube and I follow all of the drama ...so I encourage everyone to explore all of the fun chess stuff going on. Even this website that we play on!

    I absolutely hate him.

Why? He won the world title, defended his title a few times, and is now living the life he wants. This man has nothing left to prove and has more than "enough respect for the game" to conduct himself in a friendly, but professional way in the competitive format of his choosing. Many chess players would happily trade places with him. So, what's the problem?

P.S. I read your profile and played thru a couple of your games, and DO NOT think you'd be terrible even if you took more time to think. 🙂

One of the things government must do is regulate the public areas. It is possible for government to do this well. One of the crowning achievements in the US was the Endangered Species Act of 1973 (signed by a Republican - Nixon) which has saved many iconic species like the whooping crane, the bald eagle, and the red-cockaded woodpecker.

I agree, though Nixon wasn't very popular, he had some notable achievements. Could you see today's MAGA crowd backing an Endangered Species Act? - - NOT!
