Next time you are on a blind date and you get that moment of awkward
silence, don’t tell her how nice she is, that will probably be a lie. Instead
you can confidently announce that Vanessa Redgrave (an actress) and
Boris Spassky were born on the exact same day. The 30th January 1937.
This is Vanessa in her 1971 role as Mary Queen of Scots.
Happy New Year and the top tip for 2016 is at all times carry a spare
Knight of both colours with you. During the game if White then slip
a Black Knight amongst the captured pieces. Your opponent will look
at the captured pieces, then notice they are a piece down and resign.

There are two pieces of advice I want you all to take heed of.
Never take the QNP with the Queen and never walk past a second
hand shop. In the former you will end up regretting it and in the latter

Hello Again and after all the drama of the previous round some
were predicting a quick draw here to give both players an extra
free day. Karjakin would be OK with that as it takes him a step
closer to the title and Carlsen wanting this game out of the way
so he can take on Karjakin with one of the two White’s he has left.
The players did not read the script and we were treated to another fighting draw...
