A scheduled outage will be taking place early GMT on the 2014-06-30.
The exact length of this outage cannot be determined right now, but anticipate anything up to four hours.
The timing of this outage means the majority of users will be unaffected, but a timeout suspension will be introduced for 24 hours as precaution.
Although not a feature update, a new release will be made that provides:
- Better support for languages other than English (UI remains only in English though).
- Slightly modified game analysis page, improving the UI.
- Other minor tweaks.
A new Android app (0.2.2c) will be available on the same day, again, to provide better support for languages other than English and minor bug fixes.
But about the "slightly modified game analysis page", I do have some difficulties with it. Not sure if I should post them here so feel free to move it.
1. navigating back and forward between moves does not seem very intuitive anymore. Yes, you can see the moves now listed but pieces are not indicated . Also castling is displayed very odd (was already not perfect in the old UI).
2. more troublesome, the "reset" button reloads the whole page, with some delay at times. Since I use that button a lot, this is not an improvement.
I have had some other feedback regarding similar issues too. As the game analysis page was not the primary reason for this update, it didn't get a beta period like I originally intended. I'll be addressing concerns now it is live though, so don't consider it "as is" forever more.
What are the times for the suspension? I have one opponent who is listed as timing out but I cannot take a win. Does the extension not stop the timeout feature completely?
Originally posted by Sicilian Sausage Nail on the head there. This is the cause of my issues. It is now drag and drop. Click and move no longer functions.
The cause has been identified. With move sounds off, this issue occurs. A fix will be incoming shortly.
