Not a huge name in rock, I know, but quite an influence to be sure. Sorry to hear that this former Boxtops and Big Star frontman suddenly passed away.

Big Star was an amazing band.

Chilton was only 16 when he sang The Letter with the Boxtops.

Hard to believe. Definitely an influential musician. Too bad his later efforts were met with such underwhelming response. He truly had a gift.

Not much of Big Star impressed me but a few songs were very good. Still too bad to hear about his death. Seems there were people he inflienced. The Repacements song named after him rocks.
