I suppose watching them on the couch eating Fruit Loops would be better than actually watching them for school... But would you prefer a text book to a cartoon?

P-
Yes, but if you asked me algebra, compared to a bad cartoon, I would say the cartoon.

I remember "Conjunction Junction" helping me on one of those "standardized tests" when I was in grade school. I don't think we'd covered them in school, yet there was a section of them on the test. I remeber thinking, "Conjunction, what the heck is a conjunction?" Then the song came to mind: "...hooking up words, phrases and clauses...". I think I ended up doing all right.

I loved these! And yes, my students all sat through America Rock as well as some enduring Money Rock and Multiplication Rock. But if you study the whole Multiple Intelligences philosophy, the videos are a great way for some students to learn.

I can still sing the Preamble to the Constitution. Maybe I should go on American Government Idol!

Conjunction Junction is my favorite. It was always the rarest of them all, so it was a real treat when it came on. Figure Eight is the only other one I clearly remember. They ran that one a lot.
