In my newspaper today, there was a little section titled "Shortest Song Titles of All Time", and the list of songs were:
    ABC--jackson 5
Cry-- johnny ray and the 4 lads
    Bad--Michael Jackson
    War--Edwin Starr

The source was "jerry Osbourne's Collectible Records Column".
I immediately thought of 2 song titles that were shorter. {I wonder if I could apply for Jerry's job.} Can anyone think of shorter ones still? I feel sure there are many.

    I came up with:
If--both Bread and Pink Floyd had a song with this title
As--Stevie Wonder, a single from Songs in the Key of Life

    #1 by Animal Collective.

    Edit: Longest title:

The Face's / Rod Stewart's 1974 no. 12 hit "You Can Make Me Dance Sing Or Anything (Even Take The Dog For A Walk, Mend A Fuse, Fold Away The Ironing Board, Or Any Other Domestic Shortcomings)"

    Unbracketed:

The longest un-bracketed title is Meat Loaf's "Objects In The Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are" (52 letters). It made no. 26 in May 1994

    Shortest Title(s):

    # "7" - by Prince & The New Power Generation (no. 27, December 1992)
    # "U" - by Loni Clark (no. 28, January 1994)
    # "X" - by Xzibit (no. 14, March 2001).
Shortest number 1 title is "If" by Telly Savalas (no. 1, Feb 1975)

A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules from the Centre of the Ultraworld (Live Mix Mk 10) by The Orb is quite a long title.

I don't know about short song *titles* but I do remember listening to John Peel once, and he had some Mexican thrash metal band in session whose tracks were ridiculously short. One consisted of three or four seconds of awful noise with a chap screaming over the top. I miss John Peel.

"If" was originally by a band called Bread.

    Here's another shorty:
    "NSU" by Cream
How about "One" (the lonliest number that you'll ever use)

Yep. And I remember one from the 70's called "No!", but I don't recall the artist. "No!!! That's a hell of a thing to say
She just said NO...thru me out in the road"...
