I even know a number of black men (and women) that have told me that he reminded them (visually, not just character-wise) of uncles or grandfathers. They wouldn't have known he WASN'T black (or recognized him at all) had they not known going in who was playing the part.

did Tropic Thunder win any oscars? it should have! tom cruise gave a great performance, too.
