A woman in Argentina has revealed that, at age 18, she performed an illegal abortion upon herself.

“I didn’t want to be a mother. I was eighteen. We weren’t in love. I had
goals I wanted to accomplish. So I made the hardest decision of my life.
It’s not legal here. So I researched it on the Internet. I did it myself. In
my room. If things had gone wrong, I could have died. Seeing it come
out of me was the worst moment of my life. And I couldn’t tell anyone.
Not even my parents. So I carried the secret with me. I felt like this thing
was always in my chest, but it was stuck there. All day I’d act normal.
Then at night I’d go to my room and cry.”

So what has she accomplished to date? Is she a world class mathematician, or a secretary?

Also, what level of self accomplishment is murder justifyable (because I think I'm good for atleast a few adults)?

Basically, she got exactly what she deserved...Thats a great story!

    Thank you for sharing!

As part of my ongoing public service commitment, I will parse this out for those who lack the sophistication otherwise to understand the undercurrent of meaning, feeling and reality in the seventeen sentenced paragraph.

    “I didn’t want to be a mother.
Keep your legs closed, girrrrl (putting that 'rrrrr' spin on it takes away all condescending connotations otherwise inherent in such a dictum).

    I was eighteen.
    Old enough to know better.

    We weren’t in love.
    Just hella horny.

I had goals I wanted to accomplish.
    Goals, schmoals.
It's only a goal if you work at it.
Doing things which derail their eventuality only serves the purpose of revealing our true desires.
You were horny: we get it.

So I made the hardest decision of my life.
After making, presumably, the easiest one.

    It’s not legal here.
    Surprise!
    Who knew, right?
Can you believe those rascals waited until you were mid-coitus to pass such draconian legislation?!?
How dare they take away that easy out!

So I researched it on the Internet.
    So brave.

    I did it myself.
    So dumb.

    In my room.
At least you had the decency to do it there instead of, for instance, my room.

If things had gone wrong, I could have died.
Did you get that from the internet, too?

Seeing it come out of me was the worst moment of my life.
    Details, please.

    And I couldn’t tell anyone.
    What?
    That's not cocktail conversation?

    Not even my parents.
Why bother them with trivial matters, right?

So I carried the secret with me.
Well, better that than carrying the baby, I think we can all agree.

I felt like this thing was always in my chest, but it was stuck there.
    That's just the baby talking.

All day I’d act normal. Then at night I’d go to my room and cry.
Sounds like you made the right call.
    Girrrrrl.

Shana Alexander (1925-2005), an American journalist, revealed that she had an illegal abortion.
As I recall, she was unmarried at that time and desperate to escape her unwanted pregnancy.
Abortion was illegal in the USA. She was aware of the grave risks of a 'back room' abortion.
But she was willing to risk dying rather than have to continue her unwanted pregnancy.

Eventually, Shana Alexander found a 'respectable' qualified American doctor who agreed
to perform a secret abortion in exchange for a large sum of money (which she could barely raise).
She described her experience of arranging for an abortion as among the most painful
of her life, apparently worse than being raped (which also happened to her).

You are one twisted individual D.

If a woman were to kill you, then it too would be a woman's choice.

I'd applaud that choice as much as you applaud abortions.

You are, hands down, the most disgusting individual (I cannot even bring myself to call you a human being) I have ever had the misfortune to come in contact with, ever.

Well. What other parts are there to your public service commitment?

Your post was inhumane. You kick the wounded, and profess righteousness. Shame on you.

No one applauds abortions. The pretense that anyone does is a conceit of pro-lifer view.

    Kick the wounded?
This little blurb had but one intent: to garner an emotional reaction from the reader while distracting from the onus of moral obligation on the part of the writer.
    Poor her!
Look at the state the State has forced upon her!
Did the State produce her state?
Did the State force her legs apart?
She openly admits the sex was just casual, no big deal.
    Hell: everyone does it, right?

At what point is righteousness allowed to enter this picture?
When she gets her somewhat safer, somewhat more affordable abortion?
Is that the righteousness you're jonesing for?
Anything short of that, anything that smells even a scosch like morality is verboten, anathema to this new righteousness, it appears.

    I'm no saint, friend.
But I do something that fewer and fewer people have the stomach for, given their heightened sense of self: I face the consequences of my actions.

I refuse to feel sorry or have much more than contempt for a person who thinks abortion is a get-out-of-jail-free card to which they are entitled, regardless of their personal behavior.

Sounds eerily similar to what Hitler said.

"I had goals, but those Jewish vermin were making world conquest impossible, so I had to create the final solution. I would go to my room and cry every night. I had dreams, I had career plans, but then those lousy Ally troops invaded and forced me to stop, so I just put a gun to my head"

    Which begs the next questions:
    Was the gun registered?
    Was mental health an issue?

    Disgusting!

But don't let any of us with morals shout you down.

Exactly like McConnell put the stops to Liz Warren today.

    "Nevertheless, she persisted."
