Nobody injured, it was lost just before takeoff so bags and passengers taken off to a replacement plane.

Things are not looking great for Boeing.

How any upper management at Boeing can keep their jobs is beyond me.

Criminal destruction of a once-great company.

Airbus SE for the win!

For a few months I was a "flex-force engineer" at Boeing, decades ago. I wasn't involved with planes, though. It was something related to the space shuttle program.

Deregulation is a bitch that flirts with danger for money

Airline deregulation happened almost 50 years ago.

Boeing's problems started 23 years ago when management moved from Seattle to Chicago, and the company stopped being run by Engineers and increasingly decisions were made by sales and accounting.

It also didn't help that it kept swallowing up other manufacturers and its core business of mass transit now competes with military projects.

Something has to explain the recent 💩show that is its manufacturing and maintenance record. They must have cut back on inspections and quality control to some degree. You don’t forget how to build things, but you can get sloppy if no one is looking over your shoulder

My bad it’s the US there probably is no regulatory body with enough teeth to stop Boeing from focusing on safety rather than profit. When an aircraft manufacturer kicks all the engineers off its management board and appoints the guy who used to run McDonalds as its CEO bad 💩 happens
