I can't say that by my life experience and observation, I can argue with this.

Seems we are headed like a runaway train into a true Idiocracy scenario--for those that have seen the movie.

When your immigration policy is based on imported cheap labor from low IQ regions of the world, the results are predictable.

Dumbing down education through mainstreaming and forcing all kids into college bound courses does not help.

Women are attracted to successful men more often than not. If Idiocracy is happening it is because lower IQ people are more successful than they used to be.

There was even a controversial book that came out which suggested that educated people of the late 19th and early 20th centuries had higher IQs, and the argument was that the only thing that allowed for the belief in a 'rise of IQ' was the fact that more people had access to intellectual stimulation...

In reality, people have been losign their intelligence for a while now.

This makes me rethink the validity of said book.

How did Errol Flynn affect you? (joke)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flynn_effect

"The Flynn effect is the substantial and long-sustained increase in both fluid and crystallized
intelligence test scores measured in many parts of the world from roughly 1930 to the present day. ...
Test score increases have been continuous and approximately linear from the earliest years
of testing to the present. For the Raven's Progressive Matrices test, a study published
in the year 2000 found that subjects born over a 100-year period were compared in
Des Moines, United States, and separately in Dumfries, Scotland. Improvements were
remarkably consistent across the whole period, in both countries.[1][better source needed]
This effect of an apparent increase in IQ has also been observed in various other parts
of the world, though the rates of increase vary."

Given that malnutrition contributes to lower intelligence in children, improving nutrition
should lead to higher scores on intelligence tests.

You mean smarter people are not having kids and social programs allows stupid people to propagate having most of their 8 kids survive.

Right, but you know what the standard interpretation of this is...

And you know what I implied when I bloody wrote hte initial OP and described the Flynn effect.

As the changes in IQ have been too fast for any form of genetic factor, the change in IQ has merely measured the accessibility to intellectual stimulation that allows for the full expression of IQ.

It has been known forever that people can be intelligent y et give wrong answers to IQ test sorts of questions because they operate on a fundamentally different way that is not really lending itself way to conventional IQ testing.

... I think you should check out the part of Pinker's book The Better Angels of our nature that deals with this.

Don't kick yourself because your kids failed. It wasn't your fault and getting out of education was the smartest thing you could do.

Kind of funny a failed teacher making such a comment. You should know better.

As the computer and robotic age makes human labor less needful, so will it be less needful to educate them and care for them.

In fact, the major goal would then be to subdue them. Ensuring that they cannot think intelligently and critically is key to this goal.
