As an educator I have been seeing for a while now the push to get rid of the schools and have kids learn from videos.

Governments can save a lot of money if they can close down schools and cut down on the number of teachers.

The government can save money in many places by doing away with paper and taking everything digital. The carona virus is the perfect excuse to force the transition.

People will buy the need to go digital if the government can sell it as saving lives. All of this hype over a virus that kills thousands in societies of hundreds of millions just does not make sense.

Using a crisis to achieve a political goal makes much more sense.

Do you think there is a plot behind everything government does?

I heard someone the other day say that the Government started the Cornavirus. Are these people just as paranoid? It was so they wouldn't have to pay the seniors their benefits they worked a lifetime for.

Heaven forbid a parent take a hand. That would be... Communist!

Anyone who would be watching them at home. It would be just like during the summer or on weekends.

Most people do not see the push, but as a teacher I do.

A few years back a summer school program tried doing without teachers and just had kids work through videos and curriculum on line. The curriculum used was Odyssey.

It was a total failure. Kids did nothing for most of the summer, then tried to cram a summer's worth of work into 2 weeks. Plus if kids had questions there was nobody who could answer the questions.

The self motivated A students did well, but the average to below average kid who failed the regular course failed summer school too.

The summer school saved money, but it was deemed a complete failure, they went back to traditional classes the following summer.
