For Progs, is there anyone who should be denied immigration to a country?

    If so, for what reasons?

All I hear are objections as to Trump's immigration policies, I just assumed you kids had some answers to back up such criticisms.

    Guess not. My bad.

    Continue complaining

You opened a thread about immigration policy on a political debate forum but are unwilling to discuss your views on immigration policy?

Jus as I thought. The battle over immigration is simply over the battle of globalists verses those who believe in the sovereignty of nations.

There are permits to have contagious diseases? 😲

"ban everyone from random muslim countries because i promised some racist rednecks" is not a valid immigration policy.

up until now a sirian refugee for example had to go through about 18 months of vetting and paperwork. how about you start from there and improve upon that?

Who do you think should be denied immigration to a country?

These are two different issues. I'm pro tighter border control, pro bigger humanitarian imigration but only with with large social infrastructure spend to support it. I'm also anti-Trump and don't think the man should be allowed to speak any more.

    Edit: example.
Intent - Tighter control of US/Mexico. OK, Fine.
Build wall and threaten your neighbour with punitive sanctions, insult their people, and generally behaviour like a bigoted assshole. Not fine.

    Don't be bloody pathetic.
Hardly anyone (left or right) agree with me that borders are remnant of backwards thinking.

What are borders? What are nations? Where did they originate and who do they actually serve?

Once I'd studied history, religion and politics, I came to the conclusion that borders don't serve the masses.

Besides the fact that they're constantly changing (as to the whims of whoever's in control), they lead to friction and each nation has various borders at any given time (for example: one border for humans, one border for ships, one border for finances, etc.).

Personally, I find it rather sweet so many people build their identity around which piece of rock they're accidentally born on, but it's all rather random.

I like the Alps. French, Swiss, Austrian and Italian. And I like the French / Italian riviere.
So, at the moment I consider myself a sort of Rivialper.

However, I do really like Dutch motorways at night, British fish and chips and train journeys through India.

And I think it's a much richer identity than feeling Scottish, Dutch or whatever else I presume someone could call me.

    Because they are discriminatory.

Borders exist for just two reasons:
    1. To charge taxes on good (which is ultimately discrimination).
    2. To decide who can come in (which is blatant discrimination).

Despite what Americans would have you believe, the discrimination has nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism, or rapists. It is purely either out and out racism, or a claim that communal wealth is inherited. I find both to be despicable.
