... or else the economy collapses.

US President Donald Trump has responded to speculation
that he might be impeached by warning that any such
    move would damage the economy.

In an interview with Fox & Friends, he [Trump] said the
market would crash and "everybody would be very poor".

    Crazy.

    How long has he got?

I predict lame duck status for the next two years. Provided that the tail doesn't "wag the dog" during that period.

Sadly, the Democrats don't appear to have the stomach for an impeachment and Senate conviction fight.

Elaboration required my friend. I didn't quite understand those terms. Are you implying an assassination?

LORD, I HOPE NOT!! The last thing he deserves is to be historically transformed by martyrdom.

    You're probably right.
It will take the Republicans to impeach him and that doesn't seem likely.
Unless something really bad is discovered about him...

There are valid reasons for that reluctance. In the runup to Clinton's impeachment, when he was attacked, his rating was very high, something like 60%, after the attacks started his rating went UP a few notches to 66% and stayed there. It seemed there was a Democrat led Clinton army supporting him and they don't want the same thing to happen where in the end, Democrats won more seats in congress which of course from the democrat perspective was a good thing but they don't want the same thing to happen to Trump where an uprising happens and they blow their chances for taking over the house and maybe making inroads to the senate as well.
That right now is a LOT more important for the country than the satisfaction gained by ousting the would be dictator Trump.
He is in enough trouble already with Pecker flipping, where he showed Trump, starting back in 2010 personally vetted anti hillary BS tales the Enquirer was famous for. That was not an accident, that was Trump running up to the presidency from day one in 2010 and all those dozens of bizarre anti hillary tales were his doing. And after he was elected, the anti hillary BS went away, so strange....

So now Pecker has flipped and has that vault with all the skeletons Trump does not want ANYONE to view.

Great day for democracy and all of Trumps former buddies are now flipping left and right now he is finding himself isolated with only Linsay Graham cracker supporting him and his court jester Guilani.

Don't forget the flippy-floppy locust that's hiding-out in the nether-fields of Iowa: Chuck Grassley.

Last July, the Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee drew a corn-row in the dirt against removing Sessions as AG. But yesterday, he said this: “I do have time for hearings on nominees that the president might send up here that I didn’t have last year”. Nothing like a good ole boy's political courageousness eh?
