The entire Steeler NFL team boycotted the national anthem to protest Trump.....except for one lone US veteran on the team.

I say America needs to boycott the NFL and make them all get real jobs. Let them all beat their girl friends and wives in poverty rather than with rich lawyers to hide behind.

Legendary musician Stevie Wonder took both knees at a New York music festival, seemingly showing solidarity with NFL players criticized by President Donald Trump hours earlier.

"Tonight, I'm taking a knee for America; but not just one knee, I'm taking both knees," he said on stage Saturday before his performance at the Global Citizens Festival.
"Both knees in prayer for our planet, our future, our leaders of the world and our globe. Amen ..."
During the event, Wonder also spoke about interrupting hate, bigotry and condemning sexism.

Why is it that I can't go to a music concert or watch the Emmy's or turn on some sports without some half wit left winger preaching to me how evil the GOP is and how great the DNC is?

Is it not enough the left gets into power to impose their never ending agendas on us all, must they torcher us via entertainment as well? Half the reason to divert your attention to entertainment is to get away from all the political BS.

Luckily, I stopped watching the NFL long ago, and if attendance is any education, I'm not alone. Now even more people will turn them off as well.

I hope the entire NFL goes under.

Wow, if Stevie thinks this maybe I should reevaluate my whole position. After all, he is such a talented entertainer and all, he must know.

Yes, you would not want anything that smacked of education. No, you are not alone.

It's an observation finnegan, one is learning something by observing declining attendance.

You're in such a rush to be spiteful you trip over your own spite.

I shall explain the 'thinking' behind such rants by Whodey and other racists.

Many racist white Americans feel that if a black man, who may have been into poverty
(and otherwise should stay there) becomes a millionaire through professional sports,
then he must lose all his rights--morally--to criticize the USA, including about racism.

But when a white man (like Donald Trump) is born into great wealth and inherits many
millions of dollars without having to work hard or even become minimally educated, he
has every right to condemn the moral weakness of all Americans, particularly non-whites,
who were foolish or feckless enough to choose much poorer parents than his.

So rich Americans have no right to criticize the USA because they would be 'ungrateful' if they did
unless, of course, they are white people who inherited their wealth without having to work for it.

Trump is trying to stifle the ability of people to freely protest; you're saying you're okay with this? When a sitting president calls for NFL owners to "cut any player who protested during the national anthem", isn't that a fascist act?

Whodey, answer this question seriously: isn't the leader of a nation seeking punishment
for dissenters of the state, a prime, textbook example of fascism?

I'm sorry, when did he write an Executive Order for this?

Everyone ignores Trump and the courts are ready to pounce on him at any moment.

Is Trump not allowed to freely express his views?

Those in big business, including the entertainment industry, all know they must side with Progressives to keep the money flowing cuz being PC means they will do business with you.

So it's "Progressives" who want the ability to protest about government and you prefer Trump's idea, that protest against government should be punished.

You want Trump to enjoy "free speech" when he is the president inciting retaliation against protestors, but you do not see the right to protest against his government falling in the category of free speech?

A bit like, you think only the government should have free speech???

Is it free speech to be a bigot? NBA owners would beg to differ, but you have no problem with taking their jobs away, right?

How about the free speech of not wanting to make a cake for a gay couple on the basis that according to their religion it is an abomination? Let me guess, they don't have the freedom to not make the cake in protest, right?

In the two examples above, these people actually lost their jobs. In the example of Trumps' rant, no one lost their job yet it is only Trump's rant that you are concerned with. That is because you are a self righteous partisan hack of a fascist.

    Hate speech is not acceptable

I am neutral on cake baking. That is one for the lawyers but I am neutral. I can see reasons why any public service has to be included in equality legislation. I can see why sometimes the law feels harsh but, hey, you are in a country with 25% of the world's prisoners, and 97% of their convictions are not contested in a fair trial, so maybe on this one you can see why I think my position is not as extreme as yours.

Trump is advocating that people lose their jobs. It is indeed only Trump's obnoxious rant I am concerned with. To the extent that I am concerned.

I agree that I am self righeous, partisan and a hack, but your understanding of fascism is defective. I do not conform to the description while I am opposing racism, opposing nationalism, advocating socialism, supporting democracy, supporting the right to protest.

The NFL should just make it policy that teams take the field after the national anthem.

But then I don't watch much football now so I really don't care.
