Bjorn Hoecke of the AfD party was just recently convicted of using Nazi slogans at a political rally, yet his party came a strong second in the EU elections, displacing the moderate SPD party. This is disquieting. The AfD should be declared unconstitutional IMO; Germany has the legal means and the historical precedents to do it, but the politicians are too cowardly to do it. And for the same reason Mitch McConnell was too cowardly to impeach Trump the first chance he had, even though he knew at the time Trump was a loose cannon.
The difficulty I see is that the conservative parties in America, Germany, and France can’t put forward a principled platform of fiscal responsibility without attracting fascists and racists. There is a real failure of leadership in the centrist parties. Germany’s Scholz is about as dynamic as last week’s oatmeal; people are grasping at demagogic images (Trump, Boris Johnson, etc.) because they want change, not status quo. Thing is, they don’t want the kind of change the left are proposing, no matter now necessary it is.

The candidates polling strongest from the right are those addressing the lack of immigration control.
If a country doesn’t tightly control immigration, both legal and illegal, then there will be a rise in popularity of parties who stand against it. European leaders have been complicit in the largest influx of mass immigration in memory, possibly ever.
The liberal ideological left attitudes to immigration have failed, and now look.
The Green Party in the UK (whom by the way have the most fruit-loopian policies I’ve ever heard in my life) don’t just want open borders…. They want NO borders!

They trained up the second generation of militants, the Taliban, who are also not Afghans. The Afghans don't like the Taliban either. We're still fighting them, and the Afghans are fleeing them. THAT is why so many Afghans are yearning to get to Europe, where it's peaceful (relatively).

Roll back the clock to George W. Bush. That's the younger Bush. He started a war of choice in Iraq to take down Saddam. Guess who propped up Saddam in the first place? Reagan. So, Bush Jr. invades Iraq to take down Saddam, who'd gotten too big for his britches. The immediate and predictable response in the Muslim world was to raise a militia to drive the infidel Americans out of Iraq -- IslamicState, IS, that's who they are, the jihadists who rose up to drive out the infidel occupiers of a Muslim land. There was no IS before Bush invaded Iraq. IS spread across No. Africa (remember Col. Gaddafi? The US took him out, IS replaced him) and then to Syria. We are still fighting IS. There would be no IS if Reagan hadn't propped up Saddam and Bush hadn't invaded Iraq later. The Iraqis and the Syrians and the Libyans don't like IS, they are FLEEING IS to the relative safety of Europe.
There would be no mass migration from No. Africa, Iraq, Syria, or Afghanistan, but for Reagan's and Bush's wars of choice. Blame where blame is due: U.S. foreign policy blunders going back decades have had the consequence of destabilising the Middle East, No. Africa, and now Europe. Although to be fair to Bush Jr., he was too stupid to know what he was doing; Wolfowitz, Cheney, and Rumsfeld were the architects.
