Why do they allow psychosis? 😆

You'll have to take that up with God. Only He knows why He allows young men to have psychotic breaks. 😆

LÜNEBURG. A 30-year-old asylum seeker who is required to leave the country committed three crimes in the Lower Saxony town of Lüneburg within a week - including two physical attacks on the same woman. After the second attack, she had to be hospitalized, as the Landeszeitung / Winsener Anzeiger reports.

The man from Guinea-Bissau is currently in custody. He is accused of insults, threats, physical assault, trespassing and repeatedly skipping out on the bill. In total, he is said to have committed up to 50 crimes in the past three weeks.

The man had already been discussed in the interior committee of the state parliament before the renewed escalation. The domestic policy spokesman for the Lower Saxony AfD parliamentary group, Stephan Bothe, had questioned the state interior minister Daniela Behrens (SPD) about the asylum seeker. According to the AfD, the interior minister emphasized that she was in contact with the local authorities. Municipalities will not be left alone with difficult people.

AfD warned against perpetrators

Bothe described the interior minister's statements as an expression of "the greatest possible arrogance". Just three days later, there is now a "failure of the authorities that is unimaginable". The "sloppy immigration authorities", an "irresponsible judge" and "a public prosecutor's office that did not apply for a psychiatric stay, pre-trial detention or preventive detention" are responsible for the asylum seeker's further crimes.

Bothe announced that the issue would be discussed again in the upcoming interior committee. The party wants to discuss "how the interior ministry is dealing with this case, what measures have been implemented to protect the population, what the current state of affairs is, what potential danger the foreigner who is required to leave the country still poses to the population and when the obligation to leave the country or a toleration can be expected," the politician said.

The man's current series of crimes began last Monday. The asylum seeker had repeatedly hit a bakery saleswoman in the face for no reason. He was then banned from the premises.

Eyewitness: "The saleswoman screamed"

The repeat offender was actually no longer supposed to be in the country. But the Lüneburg District Court refused to issue a deportation warrant on Friday - on the grounds that the exact circumstances of the return had not been specified by the responsible immigration authorities. Shortly afterwards, the man returned to the scene of the crime, the Knaack bakery, where he had already become violent on Monday.

When he approached the woman there, she tried to defend herself with pepper spray. An eyewitness described how there was suddenly a loud shouting noise, then the offender ran away. "The distraught saleswoman screamed that he had hit her and that the police should be called."

The attacker ran back to the counter, and the ensuing scuffle then moved outside. "The woman was completely beside herself, then there were tumultuous scenes outside at the bus stop," said the observer.

Asylum seeker attacks policewoman

Passers-by overpowered the man and held him until the police arrived. The attacked woman was taken to hospital with serious facial and hand injuries. According to the witness, she was bleeding heavily. Among other things, the asylum seeker is said to have headbutted her and bitten her hand.

On Sunday, shortly after the violent offender was released by the authorities, he committed another crime. After eating in a restaurant in downtown Lüneburg, he wanted to leave the shop without paying. When police arrived, he insulted them. He is said to have attacked a policewoman in the days before.

The family of the attacked woman expressed their helplessness. Her 19-year-old son emphasized that he had looked after his mother since the first attack - until Sunday. After he found out about the planned deportation, he no longer thought it was necessary. He got her the pepper spray just to be safe.

Victims lose trust in the German state

The family, who come from Iran, say they have lost their trust in the German state. "We pay taxes here, we work here and we have to live with the fact that a man can attack my mother again and again," said the son.

He took over the reopening of the bakery himself. He doesn't want to leave his mother's side anymore. (lb)

Of course we don't do better in the US. 🙂

When our psychotics have a break, they usually get a gun and shoot up a school.

But we ignore that, too, so...

In the USA it's because they Right doesn't want to pay for psychiatric hospitals.

Not a quick conclusion - 'psychiatric stay' is mentioned in the article as if it should have been done. 🙂

Lost of reasons - cost is a big factor. Lack of recognition of the need is another. 🙂

Expecting police to act as healthcare workers and jails to act as hospitals doesn't work because the focus of the justice system is crime, not mental health status. 🙂

The law / govt cannot protect citizens, then it is time to legalize gun ownership for all adults.

A gun in the hand is worth 1,000 policemen in the bush.

In fact I think that giving guns free increases the oikelyhood of people dying...

That depends on the nature of the population.
In Europe there is a high rate of gun ownership and a low murder rate.
In the US there is the same thing, except for inner city slum areas where illegal gun ownership is very high and murder rate is also very high.

Making a blanket statement that high gun ownership leads to high murder rate is incorrect.
