Apparently there were medical experiments going on in Guatemala that mirrored those in Tuskeegee in the 1940's. In fact, there are some clamorings about US compensation to the families involved via the international courts. It took over half a decade for this to surface. Why? How many more deep dark secrets are out there that they do not dare mention, or if they do, they let half a century pass before it is revealed? In addition, how is that Obamacare working for everyone? Nervous? 😀

So where is the cry from those on the left to reform government? What about elections being fixed to put "W" in power? What about the CIA lying to Congresswoman Pelosi about torturing enemy combatants or "W" lying to us about WMD's? Where is the outcry for reform?

I know, lets just be happy that the "good guys" are in power for now and cross our fingers and hope for the best while, at the same time, we can beat the never ending drum for more government power and oversight in our lives.

You know Rahm may have been right. Liberals may be just all be a bunch of retards. 😛

Fortunately for FDR and Truman (who ran the show during the 1940s):

1) They're dead, and;
2) They were Democrats, and thus immune to any criticism for what they actually did (as opposed to, let's say, Reagan, who couldn't wait to start WWIII, even though he didn't)

What is the relation between all this and the main topic of discussion (the guatemala experiments)?

I guarentee you this would not have been made public under George W Bush. (And no one will convince me Bush did not know about them) I applaud Obama for having the courage to make this public, instead of covering it up as Bush and Co. did!

do you think Obama or Bush looks over the shoulder of every grad student digging through dusty old reports?

Government is too powerful and unaccountable yet all we hear from the left is that the government needs to have more power in our lives. By their own admission government is out of control but ONLY when a Republican sits in the White House. This is simply absurd.

Why not under Clinton? Why not under Carter? Why not under LBJ? Why not under JFK?

I don't think the left necessarily advocates a govt that is "all powerful and unaccountable", as a matter of fact I don't think anyone is advocating such thing.

What the left wants (and Im obviously speaking very generally here) is a govt which places social security as a priority, the left wants a welfare state. I don't think this implies the desire for unaccountability.

Are you opposed to government regulation of medical research to prohibit such atrocities?

You mean like the government regulated the oil wells in the Gulf via the MMS or how Barney Frank helped regulate Freddie and Fannie? Sure, sounds good to me. 😉

What the heck does this have to do with the recent health care bill?

I think it is clear that this was a plot designed and perpetrated by Wendell Willkie.

Okay, so I conclude that you are opposed to government regulation of medical research to prohibit such atrocities.
