US President Barack Obama issued a special statement to the people of Israel on Monday, congratulating the Jewish state on its 62nd Independence Day.

"Israel remains our important partner and key strategic ally in the Middle East," the American president said, "and I am confident that our special relationship will only be strengthened in the months and years to come."

Obama began his statement by saying, "On the 62nd Anniversary of the establishment of the State of Israel, I join the American people in congratulating the government and people of Israel on this celebration of their independence.

"To this day," he added, "we continue to share a strong, unbreakable bond of friendship between our two nations, anchored by the United States’ enduring commitment to Israel’s security."

    -snip-

"On this day, we once again honor the extraordinary achievements of the people of Israel, and their deep and abiding friendship with the American people. I offer my best wishes to President Peres, Prime Minister Netanyahu, and the people of Israel as they celebrate this happy occasion," the American president concluded.

    Thank you, Mr. President.

So they have had 62 illegitimate birthdays, eh? So I guess since Obama recognizes them as a legitimate regime this makes him an illegitimate president. Also, since you posted this I suppose this makes you an illegitimate member of RHP. Of course, if it were not for the illegitimate UN who founded this illegitimate regime perhaps you would not be a illegitimate statistic? Ever think of that?

I just don't know how we can celbrate a regime that builds settlements in its own capital city without world wide approval. They sicken me!!

It is so sad that their neighbors, brethren and co-coreligionists have done so little to help them over the years. Shame on Egypt, Syria and Jordan for not doing more for the Palestinians.

But the Palastinans are a thorn in the side of Israel. So if they hate Israel why would they help the palastinians? All they would be motivated to do would be to sharpen the thorn. At least they are not attacking Israel directly when they initially were given their country, so perhaps we are making progress.

I don't believe anyone truly "hates" israel, the palestianians are just pissed off that their land was taken away.

Yes, I agree. They should open their borders and allow necessary building materials, food, and aid to flood into the WB and Gaza.
