That link does not work for me. This one does:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/10/opinion/sunday/germany-on-the-brink.html

It should be mentioned that this is an op-ed piece.

In any event Germany faces a dire demographic (and economic) crisis if it doesn't take in immigrants in large numbers, seeing as there is an impending shortage of native-born working-age adults. Many German businesses are eagerly snapping up refugees and putting them to work in factories and workshops.

I happened to stumble upon a German reaction, of sorts, to the New York Times op-ed piece linked to above:

    http://www.spiegel.de/politik/deutschland/silvesternacht-in-koeln-us-medien-sehen-deutschland-auf-der-kippe-a-1071359.html

A link to the op-ed piece appears about halfway down in the article. I haven't checked to see how well a browser such as Chrome might translate the article into English.

    A typically disgusting post.

Perhaps the real mistake is supporting (even tolerating) US policy in the Middle East. The disaster unfolding there following the American (and British) destruction of the state of Iraq, the upwards of five million refugees from the American sponsored colony in apartheid Israel, the wealth of America's Saudi Arabian allies - accompanied by the dissemination of their unholy Wahhabi sect - and other interventions has massive implications and the cost is not being paid across the Atlantic, but in neighbouring countries and in Europe.

Sure. And the Russians. The Brits weren't too bad either: without them America would have been content to accept a fascist Europe, as they were content to accept fascist Spain until the Seventies. Then there were the hundreds of thousand of Irish volunteeers in the forces, and the hundreds of thousands in the war industries, and the supplies of Irish farm products. Every little helped, even the reluctant entry of the isolationist, fascistic Americans when their expanding Empire in the East got over-run by the Japanese and the economic blocakde had its predictable effect.

The real debt, of course, is owed to Roosevelt, not your hero I am aware.

Not all "Schwimmbäder" have done this. For instance the ones in Munich have put up updated rules on the premises:

    http://www.br.de/nachrichten/schwimmbad-fluechtlinge-100.html

Scroll down to see a picture of the rules.

Then can you just give us the benefit of the doubt until we can get better leaders into place?
