We live in a time of "Rights". We all want our "Rights". The Right to do this, the Right to do that.
In some thread the "Right to have children" was mentioned.
Do you think we all have a right "to have children" ?
Do only couples have that "right" ?
Is the "Right to have Children" the same as another assumed "right", the "Right to Procreation" ?
Is there anything at all called : "The right to Procreate" or "the Right to have Children" ?
What is your opinion ?
A "right" is one of those terms that is poorly defined and thus creates all kinds of problems in discussing it.
I can think of situations in which it would be moral to prevent people from procreating. If a right is something that cannot be morally denied someone, then procreation (or "having children", if that means something different to anyone - it doesn't to me) is not a right.
EDIT: Apparently the right to procreate has been declared by the US Constitution, or at least one Supreme Court judges' interpretation of it. So in this case it is a right, because it's been defined as one.

There that was easy!
