The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. On the Israeli-Gaza conflict.

Not only is it funny, he offers solutions and pinpoints the problems; more objectively than many politicians or news agencies.

What I like most about it is the role of the comedian / jester being used as it was always intended. The ability to point out behaviour and create room for constructive decisions to be made.

Even if you disagree with his offered solutions, you can admire the master class on comedy as a tool to open debate.

Yes, that must be how it works with anal incest jokes about an old man dying from leukemia. You were being 'constructive'.

Tampons on car windscreens that's 'creating room'.

hmmm, nah didn't think so.

Oh, I’m not in the construction business when it comes to kangaroo raping incels.

Now, watch the videos and educate yourself.

Wajoma, I am not into comedy, only humor appeals to me, so won't watch it. But tell, me, does he use the word 'tampons' in one of his skits? Say it ain't so.

I've found that trying to project rational solutions on people who are plainly not thinking rationally misses the point. Of course a Palestinian state with an enforced buffer zone is a great idea, but the Palestinians have to give up on the ideas of "from the River to the Sea" and "right of return" for that to be relevant, which is not going to happen any time soon.

And yes, Israeli religious zealots have to give up on colonizing the West Bank. Also probably not going to happen.

A real solution? Wait for a more moderate Israeli PM in the Olmert mode (such as Lapid), get him and Abbas into a room with US, EU and major Arab country diplomats, get out an enormous map, order as much coffee and Chinese food as you can and don't leave until you have a deal endorsed by the Israeli Government, the PA, the US, the EU and Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt. Then go back home and get it ratified. And anyone who doesn't like it can go pound sand.

The deal has to be comprehensive and deal with the structure of the Palestinian state, guarantees of Israeli security, financial help for Palestine that's used to build up Gaza rather than to buy bombs and rockets and solve a host of other issues, such as fresh water access, movement the status of Jerusalem and the like. And the Palestinian government has to control Hamas, like the Israeli government has to control the settlers.

All sides have to not like it for the deal to be fair.

All probably a pipe dream, but that's the only way there's ever going to be peace.

Netenyahu has been in power for 28 years and is the longest serving Israeli PM in history. His government is the most right-wing Israel's ever had.

We'll be waiting a long time.

So when you actually lived in Israel, you saw him 20 years ago and knew he was not in power then?

YOU thinking you know all about Israeli politics.
We LIVED there for nearly 4 years and saw quite clearly Naten YAHOO was in power then and still is now and was an assshole then and now even worse, he wants to kill Israeli democracy and install himself as dictator, he was actively trying to kill DOJ there just before HAMAS attacked and killed over a thousand Jews and that distracted him from his total takeover attempt but if and when the Gaza war is finished he will try his best to get back to killing democracy there.

I have never claimed to know "all about Israeli politics," but I certainly:

1. Know a F of a lot more about Israeli politics than any other regular contributor to this board; and

2. Know that Netanyahu has not been PM of Israel for 28 years.

Trump is not POTUS now but he is still in charge of repubs but they won't admit it.
Here is a bit taken from an article about Netanyahu :

"Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu (/ˌnɛtənˈjɑːhuː/ NET-ən-YAH-hoo;[3] Hebrew: בִּנְיָמִין נְתַנְיָהוּ, romanized: Binyāmīn Nētanyāhū, pronounced [binjaˈmin netanˈjahu] ⓘ; born 21 October 1949) is an Israeli politician who has been serving as the prime minister of Israel since 2022, having previously held the office from 1996 to 1999 and again from 2009 to 2021.[4] He is the chairman of the Likud party. Netanyahu is the longest-tenured prime minister in the country's history, having served for a total of over 16 years. He is also the first prime minister to have been born in Israel after its establishment.[5][6]''

He was a power to deal with way before that. 16 years is a long time for ANY politician to be in power. But he was a political force before that.

Not consecutively, obviously.
