Bezos has not engaged in philanthropy to the same extent as many other billionaires, and he is the only American in Bloomberg's ranking of the world's top five richest people to not join the Giving Pledge.

Is this guy trying to get more powerful than John D. Rockefeller was in his day? Can you overlook him being slow to engage in philanthropy?

I once read a book called "None dare call it conspiracy". It made the point that when a person gets so incredibly wealthy it has to be a perverse lust for power. It went on to claim the Rockefellers wanted to control the country and try to control the world from behind the scenes.

Perhaps Bezos will do good things with his money after careful consideration of how to best engage in philanthropy and prove to be a great and benevolent man. Or not.

What do you think about it? A philanthropist in waiting or a propagandist in waiting?

Bezos is beginning to do some small time donating, he's now looking for ideas (see link) Your point is valid however, Bezos has been pretty tight in the giving dept. I'm also not pleased with the way he treats his assembly line workers, they're run like sweat shops.

You would think he would be generous to his workers before considering anyone else. It often seems like insanely wealthy people only give when they come under a lot of criticism for being greedy. Then they do it out of public relations necessity, not because they really care.

Literally sweat shops, they don't air condition the shipping buildings.

For posting a link about Bernie Sanders and Bezos?
That would make us all propagandists since we post links.
